Responsibilities

The Intrepid team is responsible for developing CONOPS, architectures, system level requirements, acquisition-level requirements, ICDs, independent verification, validation and test in support of delivered system capabilities and mission closure, participation in readiness events in support of enterprise, system and acquisition-level ground milestones; leading and supporting project planning; assessing schedule and risk; generating and presenting engineering briefings; and interfacing with numerous customers.

The successful candidate will be performing system engineering to ensure the full allocation of requirements across multiple acquisitions while interacting with our customers to ensure their mission success. This position requires the successful candidate to be free of personal conflicts of interest for a select list of companies. The selected candidate will be able to understand enterprise requirements along with segment requirements and service offerings. They will be able to translate customer needs into requirements that document the services the customer will utilize. The ability to create complete and compelling presentations to ensure all members of the team fully understand the requirements is also required. Expertise in satellite communications is required.

Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Qualifications

Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.

• Experience in space/ground aerospace systems engineering

• BS in engineering, physics or related technical degree

• Experience in development of requirements, traceability, and system engineering in general

• Strong business acumen; ability to relate professionally inside the work environment

• Experience identifying user & enterprise needs/requirements and gap identification, analysis and assessment

• Experience in working with acquisition offices to ensure acquired technology meets requirements

Ability to work for customer and familiarity with that customer’s processes and organization.
