Responsibilities

Plans, integrates, and assists in the execution of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Suitability with GPS Modernization Transition to Operations activities to create a seamless transition from the Operational Control System (OCS) to modernized capabilities.

- Performs systems engineering analyses, technical reviews, and assessments; coordinate analyses efforts, methods, and techniques; develop products and briefings; and perform technical engagement with, and briefings for and to, government customers, stakeholders, and developer

- Conducts enterprise level systems engineering and integration processes to manage operational transition and fielding of multi-segment complex systems

- Develops transition to operations plans, support reviews, utilize and improve systems processes

- Works closely with GPS operators from 2 SOPS and 19 SOPS at Schriever AFB CO

- Develops detailed O&MS execution plans (Subject Matter Experts development, technical interchanges, human-systems integration, In-Process Reviews, etc.)

- Oversees transition inputs to Certification of System Readiness for Dedicated Operational Test

- Assists transition to operations with GPS Modernization Subject Matter Expert (SME) development and certification, and Transition Crew development and certification

Qualifications

Required Skills:

- Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD

- 5+ years of relevant experience

- Experience managing operational transitions and fielding of complex systems

- Knowledge of development lifecycle, project integration, and stakeholder processes

- Effective interpersonal skills, ability to conduct system engineering and integration, development of analysis reports, and strong briefing and writing skills are essential

- Ability to think critically, synthesize information from multiple sources into comprehensive plans, assimilate diverse user and mission needs, identify technical issues, and understand impacts within and external to the GPS Enterprise

- Experience in Space Operations

- Knowledge of Operational Suitability, Safety, and Effectiveness elements

Desired Skills:

- Master’s degree Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical, Communications Engineering (technical), Math or Physics

- GPS experience
