Maintaining the GPS Control Segment’s technical baseline requirements for Architecture Evolution Plan (AEP), Launch & Checkout Capability (LCC), GPS III Contingency Operations services (COps), and M-code Early Use (MCEU)

- Applying systems engineering best practices to identify derived requirements from government specifications and interface control documents, and assisting with translating requirements into tasks for hardware and software developers

- Supporting the GPS Directorate in defining, capturing, and maintaining the technical, schedule, and cost risks throughout the system lifecycle and developing risk mitigation courses of action and assessing impacts of risks and proposed changes

- Collaborating with contractor and government leads to ensure that all system and interface requirements are consistent and valid across the GPS Enterprise

- Creating systems engineering documents, including System Engineering Plans, System or Segment Design Documents, Integrated Master Schedules, and associated requirements traceability matrices


Required Skills:

- Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math or Physics

- 9+ years of system engineering experience with space and ground segments with a proven delivery record

- Strong, proactive leader who takes the initiative to identify, own and solve customer challenges

- Experience with requirements and interface management, risk management and configuration management

- Experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skill

Desired Skills:

- Master’s degree in Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering

- Hands-on, software development experience

- GPS design experience
