Responsibilities

Development of an integrated hardware/software testbed in support of Independent Verification and Validation testing of Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) flight software products. The testbed will be utilized as part of a closed-loop system to simulate rocket flight trajectories and test the flight software that controls the simulated rocket. This position requires a strong background in PC-based hardware component integration, Ethernet (TCP/IP) communications, Linux operating system and system testing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Establish system and interface requirements based on launch service provider’s (e.g., SpaceX, United Launch Alliance) specifications

- Develop design documentation

- Develop software tools to perform system certification testing

- Develop Design Review materials for presentation to customer

- Integrate rocket trajectory simulation software with testbed hardware

- Setup and execute component checkout and system integration testing

- Strict adherence to project schedules in support of Customer milestones

- Work within small teams, following established procedures, to achieve project goals

Qualifications

Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.

The following qualifications are required:

- US Citizenship

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred. Other acceptable degrees include Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related engineering/scientific discipline

Required work experience/skills include:

- Expert skills in the following:

- C++ Object Oriented Programming Architecture

- Ethernet communication protocols

- Development of applications running in Linux environment

- Fluent understanding of the following:

- Embedded real-time software control systems

- Real-time data acquisition

- Xilinx FPGA Architecture

- Windows and Linux Operating Systems

- Proficiency in Matlab scripting and data analysis

- Evidence of strong technical writing skills
