The SPOCS Project Lead is responsible for the overall project orchestration and performance in support of technical objectives. Reporting directly to the Mission Engineering & Outreach Team Lead, the Project Lead plays a critical role on program and is accountable for mission-based outcomes. The SPOC Project Lead conducts project planning and task prioritization based on stakeholder needs, and drives the project execution.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as the focal point between government customers, Caelum management, and the project team
  • Establishes and prioritizes project objectives, providing requisite capabilities and services to meet mission and GEOINT community user needs
  • Translate customer needs into project requirements
  • Lead or develop key project products, such as capability roadmaps, CONOPS documents, and requirements documents
  • Analyze, design, and implement technical solutions to IT problems, applying sound principles and techniques of system engineering and management
  • Lead the identification, tracking, mitigation, and resolution technical risks and issues to ensure the timely, functionally efficient, and cost effective stand-up of new capabilities
  • Identify project key decision points and provide Go/No-Go recommendations
  • Assess IC community applications and tools for suitability to meeting stakeholder needs
  • Review team products for quality assurance
  • Manage project tasking and balance the workload of the team; develop and execute resource loaded schedules
  • Prepare and present status briefings to program and customer leadership
  • Produce weekly activity reports to government customers and the program

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 21+ years of systems engineering, systems integration, or systems development experience
  • 10 years of related experience with NGA or IC partners in a multi-contractor, military and civilian government environment
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with GEOINT space systems, services/capabilities, software development, or production methods
  • 5+ years of experience as a systems integration project lead or manager
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective customer relationships with senior level government personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present effective technical presentations to senior management
  • Self-starter and able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills plus the ability and willingness to share knowledge

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or certification in a technical field
  • 5+ years of experience with satellite communications systems
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud technologies
  • 1+ years of experience with agile development methodologies
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills and experience
  • Superior organizational and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to interface effectively via written and oral communications with personnel at all levels of government and contractor staff
  • Ability to work in and figure out “white space”
  • Strong skills using MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
